It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our long-time server and colleague, Richard Olney. ❤️

Richard was a distinguished server in the Omaha area for decades. He joined us when we first opened Railcar in 2012. After working elsewhere for a few years, he returned to work at Pasta Amore shortly after we purchased it in 2021. Always dedicated, he also worked lunches at Timber Wood Fire Bistro.

We will remember many things about Richard: driving up in his beloved Corvette with the top down, his deep professionalism, and his wry smile and dry sense of humor. Over the last two years, Richard taught us and our customers profound lessons in dignity and perseverance. Even while undergoing cancer treatment, he continued to serve guests—most of whom never knew he had just finished a chemotherapy session.

We were honored to hold several fundraisers for him, which allowed him to vacation in the Florida Keys, fly first class for the first time, and attend his son's wedding in Colorado, escorted by Pasta Amore team members. Even as speaking became difficult, Richard refused to stop working and served right up to the end.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to Richard's sons and family.

Godspeed, Richard. You will be deeply missed and fondly remembered. ❤️
