Last night, Chef Diwesh had the honor of participating in the inaugural , organized by and our good friend .west402 .

Months of planning, countless hours of work, and an incredible group of chefs, musicians, organizers, volunteers, and supporters came together to create something truly special. Unfortunately, Mother Nature had other plans, and the event was cut short during the first service.

Still, we’re grateful to have been part of the beginning of what we believe will become a beloved Omaha tradition. The vision behind Best Fest—bringing together food, music, and community—is something worth celebrating, and we’re excited to watch it grow in the years ahead.

To everyone who purchased tickets for the Saffron table, thank you. We’re currently working on a way to welcome you back to Saffron and share the meal we had prepared for Best Fest.

A special thank you to Tay West for bringing this idea to life and for creating a platform that celebrates chefs, artists, musicians, and the community that supports them.

And finally, Happy Father’s Day to all the amazing dads out there.

A very special congratulations to our partner Rocky and his wife Sonam on the arrival of baby Bodhi. We’re excited to celebrate Rocky’s first Father’s Day and send our love to the entire family as they begin this beautiful new chapter.

Tonight, we’re honored to host the 4th edition of our Community Kitchen Supper Club.

Chef Joel Hassanali is stepping away from the menus of Salted EDGE and PIVOT Prime to share something deeply personal—a dinner inspired by his Trinidadian roots, family traditions, and the flavors that shaped his journey.

Making the evening even more special, Chef Joel’s mother and brother will be in the kitchen alongside him, helping bring this story to life.

Omaha is home to an incredible community of chefs.

Every day, they dedicate themselves to their craft—leading teams, serving guests, and creating memorable experiences in their own restaurants. But restaurant menus often reflect the identity of the business as much as the identity of the chef.

Community Kitchen was created to offer something different.

Our Supper Club series invites chefs from across Omaha into our kitchen, giving them the opportunity to cook the food they don’t always get to share. Sometimes it’s a family recipe. Sometimes it’s a dish inspired by childhood. Sometimes it’s simply an idea that doesn’t fit within the walls of their restaurant.

For one evening, the chef is given complete creative freedom.

For our fourth edition, Chef Joel Hassanali ( , ) and his family invite us to experience their Caribbean heritage through a five-course dinner inspired by the flavors, traditions, and memories that continue to shape his cooking today.

This isn’t a menu from one of Chef Joel’s restaurants.

It’s a personal expression of home, family, and culture—shared around the table.

Throughout the evening, each course will be paired by Charlie Ludwig, whose thoughtful selections will complement and elevate the story being told through the food.

Doors Open: 6:00 PM
Dinner Begins: 6:30 PM

About Community Kitchen

Community Kitchen is our way of celebrating the chefs who make Omaha’s dining scene so special.

Each dinner is an opportunity for a chef to share something personal, for guests to experience a different side of their craft, and for our community to gather around great food and meaningful conversation.

To support that mission, all proceeds from the evening go directly to the guest chef and their team.

Our role is simple: provide the space, set the table, and help tell the story.
