Dear Customers,
After a long wait, 🍺 Tsingtao B**r 🍺 is finally back in stock!
We are especially proud to have it back—not only because it is one of the most popular b**rs at our restaurant, but also because it comes from our hometown, Qingdao.
Many of our customers enjoy the refreshing taste of Tsingtao B**r, but not everyone knows the story behind it. Today, we would like to share a little about the b**r and the city where it was born.
“Tsingtao” is the traditional English spelling of Qingdao. Qingdao is a major port city in eastern Shandong Province, China. Its Chinese name, “青岛,” literally means “greenish-blue island.” Located on the coast of the Yellow Sea, Qingdao is famous for its beautiful beaches, fresh seafood, and, of course, its b**r!
Tsingtao’s flagship b**r is a crisp pale l***r with an alcohol content of approximately 4.7% ABV. It has a pleasant aroma, a light and well-balanced taste, and a distinctive malty character. An unpasteurized version is also available in China and is commonly known as Tsingtao Draft B**r.
Tsingtao B**r is also known for its connection to the mineral-rich spring water of Mount Lao, a famous coastal mountain near Qingdao. Today, however, local water is primarily associated with b**r brewed in the Qingdao area rather than products made at the company’s other breweries.
If you ever have the opportunity to visit Qingdao, be sure to try the locally brewed Tsingtao B**r!
You may also notice something fun and unusual there: many Qingdao residents buy fresh draft b**r in plastic bags and carry it home. This local tradition is often called “b**r in a bag” or “b**r to go.” In Qingdao, buying fresh draft b**r this way can be even more popular than buying it in bottles!
Every August, the Qingdao International B**r Festival is held at several locations throughout the city. The festival features parades, carnival games, b**r tastings, drinking contests, live music, food, interactive performances, brewery tents, trade exhibitions, stage shows, amusement park rides, and much more.
A visit to the Tsingtao Brewery Museum is also highly recommended. The museum features a wide variety of exhibits about the history of Tsingtao B**r and the development of the brewery. Visitors can explore historic brewing equipment, learn about the production process, and enjoy b**r samples and snacks at the end of the tour.
Thank you for taking the time to read this rather long post! We always believe that a restaurant’s purpose is not only to serve delicious food and provide a wonderful dining experience. We also hope to introduce our customers to different cultures, traditions, and ways of life through the food and drinks we serve. We will continue doing our very best to share those experiences with our community.
Thank you so much for your patience, continued support, and love. Your support is what motivates us to keep working hard every day.
