When an Omaha mom in our community needed a little extra love…
moms showed up. 💙
This is what a village looks like.
A month ago, I came across the story of Kerrey Beacom through the Omaha World-Herald. A local Omaha mom. A wife. A daughter.
She was six months postpartum when we lost her.
She left behind two beautiful girls and a loving husband, amongst many others.
I don’t fully know how I found her story, but I believe God put it in front of me for a reason.
We decided to do a raffle at our book club. That number raised means so much more to me than just a dollar amount.
It represents the people who bought a raffle ticket, the locally women-owned businesses who donated services to raffle off, the moms who shared the fundraiser with a friend, and everyone who showed up because they wanted to help a family in our community.
Thank you. Truly.
The money raised will be given to the Kerrey Healey Beacom Children’s Trust Account c/o any FNBO Omaha branch, and I would love to see if we can find a donation match before we close things out.
If you’re a local business, family, or individual who would like to match the donation, send me a message. If a full match isn’t possible, any contribution, big or small, helps support the Healey-Beacom family and honor Kerrey’s memory. Comment VILLAGE and I’ll send you the information.
I started Messy Moms Club because I believe moms need moms but it goes beyond motherhood. Sometimes our community needs us to show up for each other, too.
Thank you to every single person who helped make this happen. This is exactly what I mean when I say the village showed up.
