Happy 77th Birthday to my Grandma❤️🥺

Today is your day, and while I wish more than anything that I could celebrate it with you in person, I am grateful for every lesson, every memory, and every piece of love you left behind.

There truly would be no Gimme The Scoop without you.

The grief never really goes away. There are still mornings when I sit in my car and cry because I know the kind of love you gave me is a love I may never experience again. You loved people with your whole heart. It didn't matter what someone had or didn't have, everyone was welcome. Your door was always open, your table always had room for one more, and nobody ever left hungry.

You were one person, but somehow you made me feel like I had the entire world.
When I lost you, I lost a piece of myself, but every day I carry your love, your strength, your kindness, and your generosity with me. So much of the woman I am today is because of you. So much of this business is because of you.

Gimme The Scoop is more than Italian ice. It's community. It's welcoming people in. It's making people smile. It's loving on people the way you loved on everyone who crossed your path.

I hope you can see all of it.

I hope you know how much you are still a part of every accomplishment, every event, every customer, and every dream that continues to come true.

I miss you every single day, Grandma. Thank you for loving me the way you did and for helping shape me into the woman I am today.

🍓 We make our Italian ice ourselves in small batches using real fruit.

🌈 We offer 9 everyday flavors, seasonal specials, and you can mix up to 3 flavors in one cup.

🏪 Even when our trailer is at an event, our storefront inside Huskerland Popcorn is still open at 2305 N. 90th Street.

🥤 We also offer pints to-go so you can take your favorite flavors home.

❤️ We're a locally owned Omaha small business that started with a dream and a lot of determination, and we're so grateful for the support this community continues to show us.

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads, bonus dads, grandpas, uncles, and father figures who show up every day with love, strength, guidance, and sacrifice.

Today we celebrate the men who work hard, protect their families, teach life lessons, and create memories that last a lifetime. Thank you for the early mornings, late nights, pep talks, rides across town, and all the little things that often go unnoticed.

Happy Juneteenth! ❤️🖤💚

Lately I've been doing a lot of reflecting.

This business has brought me so many opportunities, but one of the most rewarding experiences has been being able to hire youth through the Step-Up Omaha program this summer. Watching these young people learn, gain confidence, and get real work experience has been amazing. At the same time, they're teaching me too, about leadership, patience, communication, and how important it is to invest in the next generation.

If you stop by and see them working, please show them some grace. They're learning, growing, and doing a great job, and I'm incredibly proud to have them as part of the Gimme The Scoop team.

I won't lie, it's been a challenging few weeks. It feels like I've been tested in every possible way. There have been setbacks, frustrations, and moments where I questioned how much more I could handle. But through it all, I've continued to push forward, and for that I'm grateful.

I'm grateful for every customer, every event, every opportunity, every lesson, and every person who continues to support this dream.

As we celebrate Juneteenth, I'm reminded that progress isn't always easy, but it's always worth it.

Yesterday tested us.

A shipment arrived ruined.

I paid to have my generator repaired, only to find out it still wasn't fixed and had to purchase a new one.

While picking up the generator, I cut my hand.

On the way to our event, we were involved in a car accident.

Then we ended up with two flat trailer tires.

Honestly, it felt like everything that could go wrong, did.

But we made a commitment, and we weren't about to let our customers down.

So we showed up.

We served.

We sold out.

And we received some of the most incredible feedback from the team at Project Harmony.

Days like yesterday remind me that business isn't built on the easy days. It's built on the hard days, the days when every obstacle is telling you to quit, but you keep going anyway.

I'm thankful for my team, thankful for our customers, and thankful that God continues to carry us through every challenge.

Yesterday was hard, but it also reminded me exactly why we do this.
