COFFEE & CARS UPDATE
*Long read*
First, thank you. The response to our recent post has been overwhelming, and it’s clear how many of you care about Coffee & Cars and want to see this event continue.
We’ve had a follow-up conversation with OKC Police Department, and the plan is to move forward with Coffee & Cars.
However, there will be some changes moving forward.
Beginning with our next event, there will be an increased police presence and additional traffic enforcement in and around the event. There will be zero tolerance for reckless driving, burnouts, excessive revving, speeding, or disregarding traffic laws. Citations will be issued when appropriate, and tow trucks will be present.
These changes aren’t meant to take away from what makes Coffee & Cars special. They’re being made so we can protect the event and keep it going.
We also want people to understand something about what goes on behind the scenes.
Coffee & Cars is free to attend, but it is a very costly event to put on. Insurance, permits, law enforcement, staff, equipment, property needs, and countless other expenses add up quickly. We simply could not do this without the incredible partners who step up and help us make these events possible.
And we think this is important for our community to know: the owners of Coffee & Cars do not pay themselves.
Any money generated by this event is either donated back into our community or put directly back into Coffee & Cars to help cover the cost of keeping these events going.
We do this because we love the hobby.
We do it because we want a place where people can share their passion for cars, meet new people, bring their families, and make memories. Most importantly, we want to help keep this hobby alive for our kids and the next generation of car enthusiasts.
That’s why protecting this event means so much to us.
We want everyone to come out, bring your cars, bring your families, and have a great time. All we’re asking is that you respect the property, our neighbors, law enforcement, and each other when you arrive and when you leave.
A few seconds of showing off isn’t worth a ticket, a tow, an accident, or losing an event that thousands of people enjoy.
And we’re asking those of you who love this event as much as we do to help us. If you see someone making a poor decision, respectfully speak up. Encourage good behavior and remind others that one person’s actions can affect the future of this event for everyone.
This is our community, and it’s going to take all of us working together to protect it.
A very special thank you to Life.Church for graciously allowing us to utilize your property. We appreciate the trust you’ve placed in us and the opportunity you’ve given our community to come together.
And to OKC PD, our partners, staff, volunteers, sponsors, and everyone working behind the scenes — thank you. We simply could not do this without you.
Coffee & Cars is moving forward.
Now we need everyone’s help to make sure it stays that way — not just for us, but for our kids and the generations of car enthusiasts who come after us.
See you at the next one!
