Here’s my latest update, unfortunately the loan application I was working on raised their personal equity injection by 20% over what I originally had so I am seeking different funding routes at the moment! I am not giving up and will bring the Red Cedar Play Cafe to our community no matter what!!

This coffee shop visit reminded me exactly why I’m building Red Cedar Play Café.
Most cafés aren’t designed with families in mind — and that’s okay. They weren’t built for that.
But imagine a place where you could:
☕ enjoy good coffee
💬 meet friends or work for a bit
🛝 while your kids safely play nearby
That’s the vision behind Red Cedar Play Café.
A space where families aren’t just tolerated… they’re the priority. And where the whole community ~ parents, students, professionals, and neighbors ~ can gather.

Bringing Red Cedar Play Café to life is getting closer every day 🤍 I can’t wait to see each and everyone’s’ smiling faces in the morning for a coffee or throughout the day for a respite or even after a day at work. I want to be a place for all seasons of life!
I’m currently looking for a local commercial contractor in the East Lansing / Okemos area who has experience with commercial build-outs or tenant improvements to help create this space for our community. Bonus if there is experience tearing down and gutting a commercial kitchen that won’t be used!
