This week we lost the founder of Sterk's Catering. Shirley Sterk began her business in 1972. She was a very hard worker (and a great cook!) that built the framework for what today is:

Sterk's Catering & Brickyard Bar & Grill - Oberlin

Mama Jo Homestyle Pies
Sterks Restaurant
Just Pies Inc

Over the years, she hired many young kids, helping to instill in them a strong work ethic and teach them responsibilities. Even today we hear of her former employees of 20+years ago who tell us how she had an impact on their lives.

Not only was she a savvy business woman and mentor, she gave back to the community as a strong supporter of the kids in Lorain County 4-H, Firelands FFA, Firelands youth basketball and baseball teams, where many times you'd see her sitting in the crowd (always with snacks on hand). Many of these kids called her "Grandma Sterk".

But most importantly, she was a mother of six, grandmother of 13, and great grandmother of 25. She was a strong supporter of her family, always being there for everyone.

It's not the end of her legacy, it will carry on for years to come.

Shirley is well loved, and will be missed by many people, but none more than her family.

Rest easy Mom/Grandma, you've earned it. 💔😥
