A NOTE FROM BRYAN SEET: 10-YEAR MILESTONE 🎹 Around 10 years ago, after losing my dad in 2012, after a 14 month gig in Las Vegas, after moving to a new city, after changing jobs, I found something that I didn't know I was looking for. I stumbled into a new challenge and a renewed musical purpose. I found it in piano bar preserved from the 1930s called The Alley. It was around 10 years ago this month that I started playing piano full nights at The Alley Piano Bar in Oakland, filling in for the long-time pianist, and Oakland institution, Rod Dibble, who had fallen ill. Anyway, I'm grateful for all the 1000s(?) of singers I've met, from Oakland and beyond, who have been a part of this journey - whether I've accompanied you once or hundreds of times now. What a privilege! My Thursday and Saturday nights have never been the same.
Also, at the risk of leaving someone out, I want to extend a special thanks to the community of people who have supported me, inspired me, shared the piano, hired me, bought me martinis and/or coffee, brought me water, passed the tip jar, helped save The Alley during the pandemic, and/or simply help make The Alley such a warm and welcoming place...thank you! ❤️
