Sending my gratitude to the dedicated fire crews protecting Big Sur right now - shout out to Big Sur Fire and CAL FIRE (pictured) parked right here in the turn out below Nepenthe restaurant this morning (Photo by my aunt). These men and women are nothing less than amazing!

As you may know, I was born and raised at Nepenthe - the restaurant, gift shop and cafe started by my grandparents and still run by our family today. It’s never far from my heart and mind, and so much of The Cook And Her Farmer is inspired by my life there.

SUMMER SOUNDS IS BACK

Thursday August 6 is "Summer Sounds (https://www.instagram.com/p/DZ-h5DdifGB/) " with DJ Lady Fingaz (https://www.instagram.com/djladyfingaz/) . Don't miss the music, the food, the vibes. "Oyster Hour" goes until 6pm this day; we'll have $8 rose, fresh and grilled oysters, peach salad, grilled corn, and more. Music starts at 5. Tell a friend.

OAKLAND PRIDE WEEKEND

We're excited to welcome Pride Weekend starting August 15th. We'll have a special Saturday Brunch from 10-3 on August 16th. Come for the mimosas, peach Bellinis, waffles, our seasonal summer salad, and other delicious food and drink.

Remembering our dear friend and mentor, beloved oyster farmer Tod Friend from today. Here he is, nearly ten years ago, generously sharing his knowledge with us at a staff outing to the farm (circa 2016/2017). Good times!

Tod passed away in July of 2017. We love and miss you Tod ❤️
