Sharing a bit of tea nerdery today.
Introducing the Tea Map. This has been a project idea for some time and it's finally on the wall.
The Tea Map is a visualization of how vast Camellia sinensis' conquest of human civilization has been, by demonstrating humanity's efforts to propagate this plant.
We're looking forward to this ongoing project that will see many more dots in the years to come. Hopefully a significant gain in North America.
Inspire intrigue to explore tea is a principle of The Empty Tea Cup.
Introducing folks to Tea through intellectual curiosity is one path. Then give the Tea space to speak to the heart.
Please join us in updating the Tea Map, let us know of leads to new growing and producing efforts.
Jane Pettigrew's "World of Tea" has been a great aid in filling a lot of the lesser known regions. Though some of the smaller operations, mostly in NA, are no longer around, this book is a wonderful resource of tea study. Highly recommend for those who enjoy tea and geography.
Cheers!
