Honestly we are incredibly happy to be able to help and give these kiddos a great camp week. It brings huge smiles to our faces when we hear that they sang happy birthday 2️⃣8️⃣ times for each child to feel the love and have a special moment to themselves with the cupcakes we made for them. Can’t wait for next year! If you can donate or help in any way please do so! 🥹🙏🏼🩵
We completed another amazing summer of Royal Family Kids Camp! We were able to serve 28 campers from all over the Chicagoland area, and we had 44 amazing volunteers who gave up a week of their vacation time to make moments matter for children impacted by foster care. We had a lot of changes implemented this summer which came with some big expectations for our volunteers, and they truly exceeded our expectations. Among these volunteers were 15 brand new staff members and they did incredible! I am so proud of our volunteers and I am grateful to call them my Royal Family.
While I'm here, I want to extend some thank you's to other community members and partners who helped to make camp possible this summer.
Thank you to Stone Church Firehouse Chapel and Cross Point Church Lockport IL for your continued service to Royal Family Kids Camp through time, finances, and prayer. We are so blessed to build community across congregations.
Thank you to Chicago Interactive Marketing Association (CIMA) , Givsly, Xtreme Fire Protection, LLC, Calvary Baptist Church, and the guys at F3 for your financial contributions. Withour your generosity, we would not be able to run camp programming at no cost for our foster families. Your contributions are such a blessing to us.
Thank you to Johnsn Charlie at Brand Builders Apparel for donating t-shirts for our staff and campers. Our staff loved the magenta shirts, and the camper shirts turned out adorable. Everyone had fun tie-dying the white t-shirts at well!
Thank you to Pink Petals Pastries for donating the delicious birthday party cupcakes and candles! We sang happy birthday 28 times this summer to give each camper the opportunity to sit in the spotlight and blow out their candle.
Thank you to The CLAY for donating your time to decorate this beautiful welcome banner for our campers to see as they pulled up to camp. The campers were so excited when they saw the banner!
Thank you to Marlene Schwider for putting together, organizing, and managing all of our resource needs such as birthday party gifts, updated craft supplies, and various giftcards to have everything we needed for camp. Thank you to all of you who saw our wishlist and purchased an item for the campers. Each and every item was put to good use, whether it was a giftcard used to buy photos to send home with the campers or remote controlled cars that got hours worth of playtime! We are so blessed to have a community who supports this ministry!
We are excited to start preparing for next summer's camp and can't wait to see what God brings with the new year! If you've never been to camp and know someone who has, ask them what their experience was like! Maybe it'll give you the nudge you need to serve with us next summer. God bless!
