This week Flannel Fest arrives and we're so stoked to celebrate all things fall with you: from the release of Flannel Weather (Robust Brown Ale) and our signature flannels for the season to our annual apple pie contest! So get your finest flannels ready and come spend the week with us!

URGENT! We’re on the hunt for the best “from scratch” apple pie, and we think it just might be yours. Our annual Flannel Fest Apple Pie Show Down is this Saturday, October 17th and we're looking to fill up the contest with delicious pies made by bakers like you. Think Great British Bake Off, but local, and only one pie is needed to enter!

The clock is ticking: registration closes Thursday, October 15th. Email info@fourstarb**r.com to claim your spot. For every pie entered, we’ll contribute $10 to our friends at the Northfield Food Pantry, so your pie does some good before anyone even takes a bite.

PIZZA 3 DAYS A WEEK? YES PLEASE!

Starting this week, our pals from Flis Woodfire Co will be at the brewery serving up their woodfired pizza every Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 3–7PM. 🔥

That’s three nights a week to grab a hot pie straight from the oven and pair it with a fresh pint. Honestly, I can’t think of a better way to kick off the weekend (or to stretch it out a little longer!).

Here’s how this week shakes out:

Thursday & Friday: Flis’s regular pizza menu. Keep an eye on our socials, since the menu will be posted on Wednesday!

Saturday: A special Flannel Fest menu, just for the day. Grab your coziest flannel and come hungry. 🍂

Jon and Liz are just as excited as we are, so let’s give them a warm Four Star welcome! Bring your friends, bring your family, bring your appetite, and we'll see you soon.

It’s that time of year again… the best unofficial holiday of the fall is back. FLANNEL FEST 2026!

One day only, Saturday, October 17th, and we’re bringing the heat, literally: fire pits all day, b**r releases (Hello, Flannel Weather!), bierstacheln, lawn games, live music, an apple pie baking contest, and last but not least, a Best Dressed Flannel Contest.

Oh, and signature flannels will be back in stock. That’s right, a new shipment with new colorways so come and claim yours while they’re available.

One 10″ pie per entry
Enter as many different apple pies as you’d like
Include a full list of ingredients with each pie

WHAT THE JUDGES ARE LOOKING FOR

Crust: flakiness, flavor, appearance
Filling: apple texture, flavor balance, consistency
Appearance: presentation, color
Taste: flavor combination, mouthfeel, aroma
Creativity (optional): unique ingredients, originality

NOTE: Not a baker? Become a professional taster. For a $10 donation to the Northfield Food Pantry, we’ll supply the tools and the bites of pie, and you’ll help crown the People’s Choice Winner. Space is limited (there’s only so much pie to go around), so inquire at the bar early to lock in your judging spot.

One heads up: we're closing early on Saturday for a private event, but the good news is that Flis is joining us on both Friday and Sunday instead. Stick around Sunday for live music, too.
