Who would have known what started as a high school part-time job would turn into my lifelong passion and career. My start in the business was working for one of the pioneers of the New York bagel industry, Arthur Goldberg, at the Bagel Fair in Paramus, N.J. In 1989, using recipes that date to Brooklyn, NY circa 1946, I opened my own family business, Monroe Bagels & Deli in New York state. We now pursue our mission of providing good food and friendly service in the beautiful town of North Conway, NH. We thank you for your patronage. David Hausman (Big Dave)

I use the hashtag
In my mind it’s because we do many things that are not often associated with a bagel store. Yesterday we delivered catering platters to five different places feeding over 300 people. We have a full line of pastries that we make from scratch. Our Bagels have won awards in different places for the past 37 years. One thing I like about our store is that we take lunch seriously as well. One of my personal favorites is the Sloppy Joe Sandwich. Not to be confused with the ground beef version, this sandwich was invented in New Jersey Delis years ago. There are two delis that argue about who did it first of course. It is Roast Turkey, Corned Beef, Roast Beef, Swiss cheese, Coleslaw and Russian Dressing all in one heavenly sloppy mess. In my eyes it’s the perfect football game sandwich. So come down to your early morning Flavortown and pick up breakfast AND lunch for the big game today 😜
