It's a bit cold for the patio tomorrow (Saturday), so we'll be inside! Outside food is welcome so feel free to bring a breakfast burrito from North Adams Farmers Market (and your veggies of course) or a bagel or sandwich from down the street, OR grab a pastry from the Door Prize team and settle in with a nice warm coffee. Featuring our signature, hand-pulled espresso service and our Big Tree drip.

This week we hit a small but meaningful milestone.

As a company, we work to help build a world where everyone has what they need. Great coffee should be available to everybody, not just folks with disposable income.

Earlier this month, we launched a line of coffee in Worcester in partnership with Worcester Community Fridges, a grassroots mutual aid project that coordinates a network of free food fridges and pantries across the city. Their motto: "Take what you need, leave what you can."

The coffee is called Nine Ten, named after the location of the first community fridge. It's grown by a women's cooperative in Peru and has notes of chocolate, brown sugar and dried fruit. For every two bags of Nine Ten coffee we sell, a bag goes into the pantries.

We went to Worcester with 20 bags for sale and 10 for the pantries. The community response was so positive we oversold the coffee (including people buying just to donate back to fridges) and had to ship more.

Long story short the first bags of 910 went into the pantries this week, and we heard they were snapped up almost immediately.

It's hard to overstate how much this means to us and how proud we are to be putting great coffee into the hands of our neighbors around the state. We're super grateful to Woo Fridge for trusting us as partners, and to Creative Hub Worcester for including us in their opening.

You can find Nine Ten Coffee at The Refillery at The Burncoat Center for Arts and Wellness, particularly at their Thursday farmers markets, anywhere Woo Fridge is tabling, and online at rainydaycoffee-na.com.

If you operate a food pantry or mutual aid network in Massachusetts and are interested in learning more and potentially partnering with us, please don't hesitate to reach out.
