Moments like this stop me in my tracks and remind me why I love getting to be at Johnny’s.

This week, a regular I usually see with her husband came in with a friend instead. When I stopped by to say hello, she gently shared that he’d passed just two days before, and that she’d been right there, holding his hand.

It’s a reminder that this isn’t just a place to grab a meal. It’s where people come to celebrate, to grieve, to be seen. Getting to be part of that, even for a moment, is the biggest gift this job gives me.
