Happy 10th Birthday to The Newport Inn!!
On this date in 2016, The Newport Inn had its first bookings minutes after the upstairs’ units 1, 2 and 3 went live on Airbnb!
A year and a half later, the downstairs with units 4 and 5 joined in!
It has been an interesting ride with many stories to tell. Mostly fantastic guests, with few exceptions! 😊
We have seen our 634 Monmouth Street location go through some crazy iterations! From being just the Urban Chick Boutique, to adding True Colors hair salon, to the addition of The Newport Inn.
In 2021, we began transitioning from the clothing boutique to the Bar and Bottle Shop. During this time, women could have a glass of w**e, shop and have their hair done all in the same afternoon. If they overindulged we would see if a room was available!
As time has gone on, the bar and bottle shop has grown, the salon remains, as well as a few novelty gifts and the popular Urban Chick T-shirts.
The inn is proud to say that over this ten year span, we have maintained a 4.96 Star Rating, and is rated as one of the top performers in the country!
As we have become more sophisticated, we added a concierge service and weekly special events to tie into the bar and bottle shop, creating new experiences for our guests!
A BIG THANK YOU to all the past and present employees, and to of course, all our guests, customers, patrons and clients who have helped make this such a special place. One in particular shout out to Christie Baker, you led our housekeeping for over eight years! Also, thank you to so many other friends and relatives who have helped out and been there all along the way!
