We are incredibly honored to be recognized by Rhode Island Monthly as the Best of RI – Preserving a Legacy in Providence.

When we first took on The Old Canteen building, we knew we weren’t just opening another restaurant, we were becoming stewards of a place that meant so much to generations of Rhode Islanders.

The journey wasn’t easy. There were countless challenges, unexpected setbacks, long days, and difficult decisions. Through it all, one goal never changed: create a hot dog restaurant that felt at home in one of Providence’s most iconic Italian neighborhoods while preserving the history, character, and memories that made this building so special.

Every brick, every detail, and every decision was made with respect for the legacy that came before us. We wanted longtime guests to recognize the soul of the building while creating new memories for the next generation.

This award means so much because it recognizes exactly what we set out to accomplish from day one.

Thank you to our incredible team, our guests, our neighbors, and everyone who supported us through the renovation and believed in our vision. Most importantly, thank you to everyone who loved The Old Canteen before us and entrusted us with carrying its story forward.

Here’s to preserving the past while building the future, one wiener at a time! 🌭🎉
