Shout out to our NKY State Representatives - TJ Roberts, Mike Clines, Savannah Maddox, Kimberly Poore Moser, Steven Doan, Felicia Rabourn, Kim Banta, Matt Lehman, and Stephanie Dietz. They all voted no on KY House Bill 9 yesterday. The measure passed 63-31.

This bill was sponsored by two committee chairs and the Speaker of the KY House. To put that in perspective, that’s like telling 2 of your bosses and the president of the company “no,” you’re not going to do what they want you to do. With a 1-10 bill number the bill is considered a priority for House Leadership. These Representatives listed above were representing their constituents when they voted. The rest of the KY General Assembly needs to take note. HB9 transfers tax from distilleries and wholesales to the consumer in the form of a 4 percent “sales” tax. That’s right —> 4 percent more for every single purchase of alcohol. Restaurants, Bars, Gas Stations, Grocery, and Liquor Stores. All so corporate America can line their pockets with more of your money. If passed through the Ky Senate this bill will hurt all KY small businesses that sell alcohol.

Please reach out to your KY State Senator and ask them to vote NO on HB9.
