One of the oldest bars around that still is operated by the same family. Verna bought the bar in 1938 after she lost her husband. Verna was a strong willed woman with 3 small children to raise.She borrowed the money to buy Verna's & worked it day & night to provide for her family. A true inspiration for all women. Verna not only had her children but over the 50 plus yrs that she operated the bar s

he considered many patron her family. When Verna passed her grandson took over & when he started his family her granddaughter took over it's still open & serving Newport & going strong. Stop by for a great lunch/ dinner. We now feature many craft/draft beers. We have a full menu.
