Nearly 100 people packed the parking lot at Deano's to watch the restaurant's first-ever hot dog eating contest, held in celebration of National Hot Dog Day and the restaurant's grand opening.

When the four-minute contest ended, Dan Hosey claimed the championship by eating 12 hot dogs, earning the $200 grand prize. Newnan Mayor James Shepherd joined the fun, finishing third while praising the event as a way to bring the community together.
