Massive Ice Pancakes Rolling on Lake Michigan ❄️🌊
This isn’t broken ice — it’s a rare winter phenomenon called “ice pancakes.”

When waves churn slushy surface water in freezing temperatures, the pieces collide and naturally form round, disk-shaped ice plates. As they bump and rotate, their edges build up into raised rims — like frozen lily pads drifting across the lake.
