🥬✨ Spring is here, and we’re welcoming fresh flavors back to the table. 🌱In traditional Chinese medicine, spring is when the body shifts out of winter mode. Seasonal greens and tender shoots are often enjoyed to help refresh the body, support digestion, and bring things back into balance. Some of our favorite spring ingredients include amaranth greens, Chinese toon, young ginger, bamboo shoots, and chives are known for their light, nourishing qualities and bright flavors.  P.S. Spring noodles are also very much needed this time of year. 🍜

A little throwback to last week’s 2026 Spring Festival Gala at Columbia University’s Center of Chinese Education. 🧧✨Proud to have sponsored a night celebrating culture, tradition, and the energy of the Chinese New Year alongside so many local businesses. 🌱 Ten years ago, Junzi was just an idea. We were hungry students craving the flavors of home. From the start, it was for students, by students. Supporting the campus communities that shaped us is simply part of who we are. 💛🍃 Hosting a campus or cultural event? We’d love to be part of it. Reach out and let’s build something meaningful together. 🥢

Don’t listen to the groundhog! No six more weeks of winter for us. ❄️🙅‍♀️ In the Chinese lunar calendar, February 4, 2026 marks the official beginning of spring. 🌱
And what better way to welcome it than with a bowl of spring noodles? Yangchun Noodles (阳春面) literally Spring Noodles, are simple, light, and comforting. “Yangchun” refers to the most gentle and bright moment of spring, when everything begins to grow, and by extension, a state of clarity, purity, and unadorned goodness.
Spring is here. Let’s enjoy the fresh starts. It’s all about clarity, warmth, and ease as the season turns 🥢🌸

Our Story

At junzi, we are committed to making simple and thoughtful everyday Chinese food accessible to the many. One meal at a time, we hope to connect more individuals and communities to food, culture, and beyond.

Incubated at Yale Entrepreneurial Institute and first opened in 2015, junzi grew out of a hunger for our childhood staples: northern Chinese food made with healthy, seasonal ingredients. Yet recreating the taste of home has done much more than sate our cravings—the amazing power of food in building community has inspired us to make our bings and noodles accessible to all. In just three years, we’ve grown junzi to four locations in New Haven, CT near Yale University, Morningside Heights near Columbia University, Greenwich Village near NYU and Bryant Park—and that’s just the beginning!
