Tziki was born out of a craving for authentic Greek souvlaki, a craving shared by four friends with roots in Athens, Chios, Kefalonia, and Cyprus. At Tziki, we're passionate about crafting traditional Greek souvlaki with authenticity. We use only high-quality, fresh ingredients, and prepare everything in-house daily with refined culinary techniques. Our dedication to time-honored recipes and premium ingredients offers a genuine taste of the Mediterranean and a culinary journey to the streets of Athens. Inspired by the first modern souvlaki shop, opened in Athens in 1924, Tziki continues that legacy in New York City a century later. Chelsea, a neighborhood close to our hearts, was once a vibrant hub for Greek immigrants. With Tziki, we hope to rekindle that culinary heritage in a place where it once thrived. The experience at Tziki extends beyond just the food. The ambiance is carefully curated to evoke the lively and artistic energy of Athens. Tziki’s vibrant character is brought to life through the collaboration with Alexandra Manousakis, a Cretan artist who has infused the space with her unique blend of contemporary Greek aesthetics and urban energy. Most people — Greeks included — don’t know this: fries in the pita is NOT the original Greek way.

Purists like Kostas near Syntagma in Athens refuse to add fries in the pita. Respect. But some days call for a fat souvlaki loaded with fries.

Come by and add fries in your pita anytime you want.
