Before we were serving souvlakia on Flatbush Ave, our dear Uncle Paul — “The Chief” — was already doing it first.

For many years on the Coney Island boardwalk, he served some of the tastiest souvlakia you could find. An immigrant from Greece who came to this country with a dream: support his family and bring the humble flavors and culture of the homeland to the people.

Every July 4th the crowds came, and Uncle Paul was there working hard, grilling, smiling, and sharing a taste of Greece with everyone who walked the boardwalk.

His work ethic, determination, and love for family inspired all of us.
