Cha Cha Tang Cha Cha Tang is a restaurant by John McDonald and Wilson Tang.

The kitchen is led by Chef Doron Wong and Akiko Thurnauer and offers a playful rendition of a classic Hong Kong diner, “cha chaan teng” which translates to “tea restaurant.”

What started as a one week pop-up with the team at Mercer Street Hospitality turned into an incredible two-year run that I’m really proud of. As we close this chapter at the end of the month, I’ll be turning my focus back to Nom Wah and the next stage of growing that brand.

I’m so grateful to John McDonald and everyone at Mercer Street Hospitality for believing in the concept, to our amazing staff and kitchen team who poured their hearts into it every day, and especially to everyone who came through our doors and supported us along the way. Thank you for being part of the journey.

I’m excited for what’s next and hope to see everyone at Nom Wah soon.
