🍌“Kluai Buat Chi” is a traditional Thai dessert dating back to the Ayutthaya period, born of the local wisdom of utilizing easily accessible, local ingredients.

The term “Buat Chi” refers to the appearance of the coconut milk broth; its pure, creamy white color resembles the robes of the white attire worn by Buddhist nuns.

Historically, the practice of simmering fruit in coconut milk was known as “Kaeng Buat” or simply “Buat.” When bananas were cooked in coconut milk—simmered with salt and sugar until both the fruit and the liquid took on a creamy white—the dish came to be known as “Kluay Buat Chi.”

Available during Tom Yum Week, September 16–30, exclusively at our Brooklyn location. Come taste a little sweetness from Thailand!

“Laab Pla Duk” (Isan-Style Catfish Laab) 🌿🌶️✨

The word “Laab” refers to a traditional Isan dish in which meat or fish is finely chopped or flaked, then tossed with fresh herbs, lime, chilies and toasted rice powder.

“Pla Duk” means catfish in Thai.

Together, “Laab Pla Duk” is a bold and aromatic catfish dish filled with the spicy, tangy and savory flavors of Northeastern Thailand.

Available September 16–30 only at our Brooklyn location. Come taste authentic Isaan flavor before it’s gone!

“Tam Pa” (Spicy Jungle Papaya Salad)🌱🌶️✨

The word “Tam” is a Thai verb referring to the action of pounding or crushing ingredients inside a mortar using a pestle.

The word “Pa” refers to a vast area densely covered with trees, vegetation, or grass.

“Tam Pa” is a bold-flavored Isan-style papaya salad based on the *pla ra* (fermented fish) version, but it is generously packed with a wide variety of side ingredients and local vegetables—all pounded together in a single mortar.

The term “Tam Pa” originates from the Isan phrase “Tam Pa Tam Dong,” which alludes to a dense, diverse mix of ingredients—much like gathering whatever is available in the jungle and combining it all together.
