April 1, 2026: EAST VILLAGE—Ray’s Candy Store kicking off a series of celebrity guest “Ray” turns at the counter, pleased to welcome NYC’s own Dr. Ray Stantz (of Ghostbusters fame!) as he launches his Coneheadz™️ line of desserts—exclusively at Ray’s Candy Store!

Upon retiring from active ghost-busting duties, local hero Dr. Ray Stantz embarked on a number of fruitful endeavors: founding a chain of blues clubs, launching an award-winning craft vodka, and later, a winery.

And now he’s sure to make a splash in the viral desserts realm with the launch of his Coneheadz™️ brand of upside-down-ice-cream-cone-in-a-cup dessert concepts and his mouthwatering egg cream flavor combinations like “Ecto Cooler Tangerine Vanilla Creamsicle, “Stay-Puffed Marshmallow Coffee Swirl,” and “Lemon -SLime & Ginger Ale Splash.”

“I’m thrilled to watch Dr. Stantz work his magic!” said Ray Alvarez, the 93-year-old proprietor of the longstanding dessert shop on Avenue A. “I’m a fan of his work. It’s one of the great collaborations in Ray’s Candy Store history!”

So, come one, come all and enjoy a bevy of delights with our first guest “Ray!” Listen closely as he regales patrons with tales from his illustrious past, like the time he was present at an undersea, unexplained mass sponge migration…or if you’re really lucky, he breaks into song and dance while he prepares your treats!
