he Sicilian gelaterie, born in the early 70’s but also by the artisanal, hand crafted Sicilian gelato that puts together the natural ingredients and an authentic, genuine tradition of making a natural product. Francesco Realmuto, the founder and owner of "L`Arte del Gelato" grew up in Sicily, before moving to NY in his twenties. Francesco always experienced the best quality food along with a unique Sicilian tradition. After several years working as diamond cutter, he sensed a desire to relive his Sicilian heritage and share it with others. Thus his decision to change his life and to take up a career that was so very dear to him – that of good, wholesome, traditional Italian food. The company enjoys today a strong reputation among consumers, retail, foodservice and restaurants for products highly regarded for quality, taste, nutrition, convenience and value. In Sicily we learned a natural training for quality: we learned to sense the fragrance of chocolate, to taste the ripest fruits, milk and farms. We remember the aroma of toasted coffee and the harvest air. We enjoyed those moments in Italy and we rejoy those memories everyday in our laboratory. We keep the curiosity we had when we attended the teachings of our patient master gelato makers: the seeking for raw materials, genuine ingredients and original recipes. It was a ritual from which we learned most of all a deep meaning: good things require good care.
