10/10 reads jū jū (ジュージュー) in Japanese. That is the sound okonomiyaki makes on the griddle. Otafuku made it Okonomiyaki Day for that, and for the zero, which is meant to look like people sitting in a ring around the hotplate. This year we are in on it.
Our Okonomiyaki Fries are the reason. Fries, cabbage, corn, cheese and mayo, finished with Otafuku okonomiyaki sauce, bonito flakes and scallion. The flakes move when they land. That is still the only special effect we own.
Saturday, October 10. The first 10 people to order Okonomiyaki Fries get a free Otafuku bag. We open at noon. When the bags are gone, the fries are still $14.
