Broadway Shows Closing This Summer 2026 – See Them Before They’re Gone

Summer on Broadway is a paradox: the city is packed, but the closing notices come fast. Limited runs hit their end dates, beloved long-runners finally call it, and shows you swore you'd "get to eventually" quietly post a final performance. Eventually is now. Here's everything closing on Broadway this summer, in the order the curtains fall — with the cheapest way into each one before it's gone. Why summer is closing season It's not your imagination — the closings really do cluster now. Limited engagements get booked for spring-into-summer runs and hit their pre-set end dates....

Eventually is now. Every Broadway show closing this summer in the order the curtains fall, from Moulin Rouge to Ragtime, with the cheapest way into each before it's gone.

A marmalade-stained bear is officially colonizing the Al Hirschfeld Theatre. The London hit finally crosses the pond to see if a polite immigrant from Peru can survive the cynicism of a Midtown rush hour.

The creative team behind the London production is keeping the original score intact for the Broadway transfer. It is a calculated gamble on sentimentality in a city that usually prefers its theater with more grit and fewer duffel coats. If you need a break from the usual Broadway cynicism, this provides a functional escape.

A bear with a suitcase and a sticky marmalade habit is moving into the Al Hirschfeld. It is a level of earnestness we usually avoid on 45th Street, but the West End critics were right about this one.

Tom Fletcher wrote the score and Luke Sheppard is directing. They managed to make a show about a refugee bear that feels less like a corporate cash grab and more like a necessary departure from the typical cynicism we endure on the subway. The production values are high and the heart is genuine.

Previews begin March 30 at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre. We suggest skipping the tourist crowds and booking early for this one.

A suitcase full of marmalade is officially invading the Al Hirschfeld. We are about to see if a polite bear from Peru can handle the aggressive pace of the 8th Avenue sidewalk without losing his luggage or his manners.

The West End import brings its Olivier-winning charm to Broadway on March 30. Tom Fletcher wrote the music and Luke Sheppard directs, so expect enough production polish to justify the midtown prices. It is a rare moment of earnestness hitting a stage that usually deals in cynicism.

The show opens for previews on March 30 at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre. Pack your own snack if you don't want to pay lobby prices for a sandwich.

Where to Eat Before a Broadway Show Without Blowing Your Budget

Here's the tourist mistake, committed nightly in Times Square: you've got an 8 o'clock curtain, you panic at 6:45, and you sit down at the first place with a glowing menu in the window. Forty minutes and forty dollars later you're eating mediocre pasta under a TV. A local would never. The trick to eating well before a Broadway show isn't a secret reservation — it's knowing which direction to walk and when to sit down. Here's how I do it. Rule one: walk west The single best move in the Theater District is to leave the Theater District....

Every Broadway Rush You Can Do This Summer 2026

Lottery gets all the glory, but rush is the move most New Yorkers actually use. No 11 a.m. phone alarm, no praying to the TodayTix gods at 3 p.m. Rush is simpler: show up (or open an app) the day of the show, grab a cheap seat nobody else bought, and walk in for a fraction of face value. The catch is that "cheap" and "guaranteed" never sit at the same table. Here's every rush worth doing on Broadway this summer, and the handful actually worth setting an alarm for....

No 11 a.m. alarm required. Every Broadway rush deal worth doing this summer, plus the few actually worth setting an alarm for. From a New Yorker who does it weekly.

The Best Broadway Lottery Odds Right Now (Summer 2026)

Everybody enters the Wicked lottery. Almost nobody wins it. If you actually want to sit in a Broadway house this summer without paying rent-money prices, the trick is to enter the lotteries with real odds — and those are almost never the famous ones. Here's where your chances are genuinely good right now. The math nobody tells you Your odds are simple: seats offered divided by people entering. A blockbuster might drop 25 lottery seats against several thousand entries. A newer or smaller show can offer the same number of seats to a tiny fraction of that crowd....

Lottery odds are seats divided by entrants. Play the shows with real odds — smaller houses, plays, weeknights — instead of the blockbusters everyone loses.
