If you see Ryan in the shop today, be sure to thank him for his service. Ryan, until recently, served with the 101st Airborne Division in the U.S. Army. Although he is no longer with us, I have to mention my brother, Jeff Purlee, and his U.S. Air Force service. Without his encouragement and persistence before his passing, I am not sure this coffee shop would have happened. ✌🏼🩷☕️

Happy Monday, friends! It was a long week, but we are open! We sure missed seeing all the New Washington cheerleaders as they went to competition over the weekend. We heard how incredible you all were; congratulations! The New Washington High school cheerleaders advanced to State and will travel to New Castle this Saturday! These dedicated ladies have shown remarkable perseverance, practicing seven days a week and overcoming every obstacle. Their unwavering commitment to their craft and to each other is a testament to their character, humility, and teamwork. You ladies are truly fabulous, with heart, a great attitude, and steadfast determination. We are all so proud of you! ✌🏼💙💛☕️

Can you believe it's just over a month until Thanksgiving? Last year, our sweet friends at SpudBank advertised a free Thanksgiving meal from their food truck in Scottsburg, which inspired us to do the same for our community! You are welcome to dine in or take to go; we will also deliver to those unable to pick up. As we start to plan and purchase items, feel free to inbox us with the number of meals you would like. We had such a large turnout last year that we want to make sure we have plenty. We will serve turkey, green beans, sweet potatoes, rolls, and a dessert. We are so thankful for all of you! ✌🏼🩷☕️ Don't worry, we do not require or even ask our employees to work on this day.

We will be closed from October 27th to October 30th for renovations. We apologize for any inconvenience, but unfortunately, this phase cannot be done during or around our open hours. We appreciate you all so much and hope you will be just as excited as we are once we are complete! ✌🏼🩷☕️

I'm so excited to have all three of my kids working at the Coffee Shop! Presley just has one class left to finish her master's, but it's not offered until spring. You'll see her and her boyfriend regularly; he'll be part-time around his indoor track schedule. This comes just in time for Emily to transition to her salon. Her website is now live; follow her at Barks’N Bones Dog Grooming for updates! I'm so excited for the future and look forward to watching this dream team grow the coffee shop business and Emily knock it out of the park, bringing our town another needed new business! ✌🏼🩷☕️

Happy Wednesday! Emily is brewing our Honduran and Guatemalan roasts this morning. Taqueria Hernandez will be here from 4-8. Don’t forget about Autumn on the River this Saturday and Sunday; we will have yard sales set up and lots of your favorite foods and new menu items! (If you are in the market for a home in the area, we will share Ryan's new listing tomorrow with times for this weekend's open house.) It’s going to be another beautiful day today; make it the best.
