This week was ONE FOR THE BOOKS!!! 😳🔥
We ended an event with a blown generator. Not ideal… but I was able to get a backup generator so we could still attend a BIG hospital event yesterday.
We showed up ready to go.
And then… THE BACKUP GENERATOR WENT DOWN TOO. 😭
I was MORTIFIED. And honestly, I still am!
I made that dreaded call to the event organizer expecting frustration, disappointment and probably a whole lot of anger.
Instead, I was met with nothing but kindness, understanding and grace. ❤️
She immediately started trying to help us find a solution—even offering to see if hospital maintenance could get us a generator. Unfortunately, they weren't able to accommodate us.
Thankfully, we had managed to cook some food before the generator completely gave out.
So… I put my big girl panties on, brushed off my VERY wounded ego, and the girls and I went to work! 😂💪
Online orders were canceled.
A basic menu was created.
And we sold almost EVERYTHING we had ready!
No fans. No air flow. No relief from the heat. 🥵
It was absolutely miserable inside that trailer, but we pushed through.
What bothered me most wasn't the heat or even the generator—it was feeling like I had let the hospital down. People were expecting us, and I felt completely defeated.
Then the organizer told me something I wasn't expecting at all…
People had been looking forward to having us there, and THEY WANT US TO COME BACK. ❤️
I had no words.
I am so incredibly grateful for the kindness, patience and grace she showed us. This situation could have gone completely different, and I will never forget how understanding she was on one of my worst business days.
Life happens. Equipment fails. I take every precaution I can—but TWO generators going down back-to-back was definitely not something I ever planned for! 🤦♀️
But we adapted. We served what we could. And we made it through.
And needless to say…
Comfy is getting a BIGGER and STRONGER generator because she and I NEVER want to experience this again! 😂😂😂
Well… hopefully! 🤞
Some days owning a small business make you proud.
Some days humble you.
And some days do BOTH. ❤️
Thank you to everyone who showed us patience and kindness yesterday. It meant more than you know.
