We’re proud to share that our Beverage Director, Braithe Gill, has been named one of just eight recipients of the 2026 BevX Movers & Shakers Award from Cheers Magazine — recognizing the most creative, original, and innovative leaders in the on-premise spirits industry.

It’s the latest chapter in a remarkable run. Under Braithe’s leadership, Brennan’s earned Wine Spectator’s Grand Award after a 16-year hiatus, alongside recognition from Wine Enthusiast, Tales of the Cocktail, and a 2026 James Beard semifinalist nod for Outstanding Professional in Beverage Service. To see her named among only eight honorees nationwide is no surprise to anyone who’s sat at our bar — but a thrill all the same.

The History of Crepes Fitzgerald: A New Orleans Classic 🍓🔥

In the Mad Men era of New Orleans, the Fitzgerald Advertising Agency — the team behind campaigns for Tabasco, Wesson Oil, and Coca-Cola — kept a standing table for eight at Brennan’s, Monday through Friday. From the president down to the mailroom, they were here every day, entertaining clients over long Royal Street lunches.

So Brennan’s did what Brennan’s does: named a dessert after them.

The dish hasn’t changed since — delicate crepes filled with citrus vanilla-scented cream cheese, crowned with Ponchatoula strawberries flambéed tableside. Watch General Manager Christian Pendleton tell the full story, one blue flame at a time.

Watch General Manager Christian Pendelton bring the seasonal Crêpes Fitzgerald to life tableside — delicate crêpes filled with citrus vanilla-scented cream cheese, flambéed in a pan of Ponchatoula strawberries right in front of you.

The detail we love most: this was Ralph Brennan’s favorite dessert as a child, the one he’d order when he came to eat at Brennan’s. He owns the place now. The dessert’s still on the menu.
