Introducing our new coffee: Bali Kintamani (bah-lee kin-tah-mah-nee)
This coffee is cultivated in the volcanic highlands of the Kintamani region in Bali. This is a naturally processed coffee, which means the fruit of the coffee dries around the seed, giving it a distinct juicy flavor. It has a sweet and fruity profile, with notes of banana, pink lemonade, and red licorice.
The farmers of this coffee irrigate using a tiered system of channels called a Subak, which was originally used in Bali’s rice farming. Subak is also the name of the collective that works together to preserve the quality of the land using crop rotation methods. This collective operates using the Tri Hita Karana philosophy, a Balinese Hindu belief system that promotes balance and harmony between mankind, nature, and the spiritual realm.
