was formed by friends and family to compete in the annual charity BBQ competition “Hogs for the Cause.” Since 2013, the team has raised $30,000 for the families of children with pediatric cancer. In the fall of 2016 we opened Frey Smoked Meat Co. Open seven days a week from 11:00 to 10:00 pm Tuesday - Saturday and 11:00 to 9:00 pm Sunday and Monday, at 4141 Bienville in Mid-City Market. more than just award-winning barbecue. Come get burgers for lunch with friends, or bring the whole family for dinner and milkshakes. Call (504) 488-RIBS for togo orders or just stop by. Our hand-built, 18 foot bar carries over 45 different beers and over 50 different whiskeys. Enjoy a beer on the patio while watching the game, or sit at the bar with a craft cocktail. We hope in some small way to bring back an old New Orleans memory with a little different twist in BBQ. The Frey family has been in the meat business for six generations in New Orleans. Frey became a local meat packing company in 1865, operating for over 120 years. Chef Ray and his brothers are great grandsons of Louis Frey who was the founder of L.A. A Heartfelt Farewell from Frey

It is with a heavy heart that we announce that Frey will be closing its doors at the end of this month. This decision has not been an easy one, but after ten incredible years, it’s time for a new chapter.
We want to extend our deepest gratitude to our amazing staff and loyal customers. Your dedication, support, and love over the years have made Frey a special place in so many hearts. We couldn’t have made it this far without each and every one of you.
We wish everyone the very best, and we’ll carry the memories of these years with us always. Thank you for being part of our journey.
