Happy beautiful fall Saturday, folks! What an amazing weekend is in store for us--hope you all get out there and enjoy this perfect apple-picking, pumpkin-carving, cider-sipping weather!
Over the past almost-10 years, we've spent many autumn hours looking out our front window to the Town Green, admiring the gorgeous colors, watching the predictable-but-still-mesmerizing changes from day to day, year to year. Hopefully our next adventure finds us an equally awe-inspiring view.
Over the past almost-10 years, we've daydreamed while standing on the back porch, the sun melting into our fluorescent-lit skin, ending our shifts and watching the skies change over Mt.Sunapee, snow drifts whisping into the crystal blue sky. If there aren't mountains where we go next, we aren't going!
Over the past almost-10 years, we've seen so many of your children grow...from an idea, a dream, a hope, to full-grown adults graduating college, to nomads who eventually found their way back home to New London and started roots of their own here. We've been so very blessed to be a part of so many celebrations in your lives, receiving hugs and love and friendships, becoming the cafe-family that your children beg for and that you trust your children to visit without supervision. There had better be a community of people that don't mind their kids getting a good mom-hug from an employee, wherever it is.
March 2nd will have been Grounds Cafe's 10th anniversary, all thanks to you guys. As much as we truly wanted to reach that official milestone and party over the decade of memories with you all, we have made the decision to make the New Year's Eve our final party with you. It was not an overnight decision, and it hasn't been easy waiting to announce this, but it is something that is very necessary for many reasons.
This post is limited in length due to space 🤪 so please know that we will continue to update you all through the end of this year, and that we are here to give hugs and share stories as long as the door is open!
