1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instruections š„£
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
Beat in the maple syrup, egg, and vanilla extract until well combined.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
Drop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
To make the maple icing, melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir in the maple syrup and bring to a simmer. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
Gradually whisk in the powdered sugar and vanilla extract until smooth and thick.
Drizzle or spread the maple icing over the cooled cookies. Allow the icing to set before serving.
