he managed to sell her artwork around the world and immigrated to the United States to provide a better life for our family. Inspired by my grandmother's adventurous spirit and entrepreneurial drive, my grandmother and mother embarked on a creative journey as photographers and entrepreneurs in the bustling streets of New York City. Born and raised in Queens, New York, I carry the essence of my Colombian heritage in my heart. My grandmother, my cherished best friend and life mentor, nurtured my passion for cooking. Who was also taught how to cook by her grandmother whom she cherished dearly. Together, we would spend countless hours crafting delicious Colombian recipes, infusing each dish with love and care. She taught me the art of cooking from scratch, instilling in me the importance of honoring tradition and family. When my grandmother passed away, a void was left in my heart. Determined to keep her spirit alive, I founded Empanada Mama. Our empanadas and Aji (a traditional Colombian salsa) are made with the same love and dedication that my grandmother poured into her artwork and her family. Each bite tells a story of resilience, hard work, and a deep-rooted love for our culture. As I stand here today, I am reminded of my grandmother's unwavering strength. She overcame adversity and embraced the opportunity to build a better life in the United States. Nacida y criada en Queens, Nueva York, llevo la esencia de mi herencia colombiana en mi coraz贸n. Mi abuela, mi querida mejor amiga y mentora en la vida, cultiv贸 mi pasi贸n por la cocina. Ella tambi茅n aprendi贸 a cocinar de su abuela a quien apreciaba profundamente. Juntas, pas谩bamos incontables horas elaborando deliciosas recetas colombianas, infundiendo cada plato con amor y cuidado. Ella me ense帽贸 el arte de cocinar desde cero, inculc谩ndome la importancia de honrar la tradici贸n y la familia. Cuando mi abuela falleci贸, un vac铆o qued贸 en mi coraz贸n. Determinada a mantener viva su esencia, fund茅 Empanada Mama. Nuestras empanadas y el Aji (una salsa tradicional colombiana) se elaboran con el mismo amor y dedicaci贸n que mi abuela depositaba en su arte y su familia. Cada bocado cuenta una historia de resiliencia, trabajo duro y un amor arraigado por nuestra cultura. Mientras me paro aqu铆 hoy, me recuerdo de la inquebrantable fortaleza de mi abuela. Ella super贸 la adversidad y aprovech贸 la oportunidad de construir una vida mejor en Estados Unidos. Su legado impulsa mi determinaci贸n de honrar su memoria y compartir nuestra historia de amor, cultura y gastronom铆a colombiana con el mundo.
