An update from The Salty Pretzel ☕🥨

As some of you may have seen, the purchase of the church building in New Berlin did not move forward. That process involved a great deal of effort, dedication, and perseverance on my husband’s part, and he deserves full credit for the work he put in and the relationships he built along the way.

From The Salty Pretzel’s perspective, we had planned to lease space in the building, and while that opportunity is no longer available at this time, our plans to serve New Berlin are very much still alive.

We fully intend to bring good coffee to this community. In the meantime, we are actively pricing out coffee trailers as an interim option while continuing to explore future brick-and-mortar opportunities.

My husband will continue working with community leaders to explore alternative pathways forward, and we remain hopeful about what’s next.

Thank you to everyone who has supported both of these efforts. We truly appreciate this community and look forward to sharing updates as plans continue to take shape.

So excited for The Salty Pretzel to help sponsor the first Project Winter Wonderland for New Berlin and our surrounding communities ❄️✨
I love seeing our town come together, and I’m grateful we get to play a small part. We’ll be there with free gift wrapping and all the holiday cheer.

The late-night laptop sessions are becoming my normal. Once the girls are down, I finally have space to focus on everything The Salty Pretzel needs before we close—equipment, contractors, health department plans, every little detail. I want as much lined up as possible so we can move fast once we get the keys. And with the countdown to returning to work on January 5th, the pressure is definitely on. But honestly, building this dream for our family and our community keeps me going.

I’ve been diving deeper into the coffee world and trying to learn from people who are already living it every day. I’m trying to make smart decisions as I build out my own plans and I want to hear from the people who have already walked this path. Your insight genuinely helps shape how I’m thinking about equipment, workflow, and what really matters in the long run. If you’re a small business coffee shop owner I’d love to hear any advice, wins, or lessons learned.
