Recently we came under a little scrutiny over our Facebook post and the use of AI. Instead of replying to a single person off in the depths of BC Matters, we have came here to get the opinion of the masses and to state our position. I will tag the OG post in question to the comments shortly.
For us AI is just another tool -- kind of like using Photoshop, Canva, or a camera filter to help create artwork and tell stories online. We’re still a small-town family business cooking real food over real fire for real people every single day. The faith, hard work, community support, and care behind what we do are very real.
We definitely don’t want anyone to feel dismissed or unheard over concerns about energy use or technology. Those conversations matter. At the same time, using AI graphics for a Facebook post isn’t something we see as replacing God's creation, people or values — it’s simply a modern way to make creative marketing materials when budgets and time are tight for small businesses like ours. Im the head of marketing, responsible for Facebook, Instagram, Google, TikTok, YouTube, as well as menu design and printing, LTO offerings, Catering ads, on and on, oh and those are one man teams. Trust me I hated the idea of AI but then everybody else around us started killing it, it was practically eat or be eaten.
What's your opinions, to AI or not AI?? Does it effect how you support locals?
No matter what, we appreciate you supporting local businesses and sharing your perspective respectfully. We may not fully agree on AI, but we can still appreciate each other as neighbors and members of the same community. ❤️
