I know most of you likely don’t care much, but today is one of my favorite days of the year, and I’m not talking about hot dogs or hamburgers. This is the first day of the Tour de France, and one of my favorite cyclists Isaac Del Toro Romero has a good chance to podium. To celebrate, I created an espresso Mexican coke with an orange juice syrup, it will keep me going until I can get off work to watch the race highlights. No spoilers, please. ¡Viva la raza!

Don’t get complacent. I have to remind myself every day to challenge what I previously thought was true, because coffee is always changing! I do a master dial-in once a week on every single coffee, but the subsequent days are spent honing in on a specific pourover and making certain it is the best representation of Scott’s profiling. Each barista here knows they need to come in ready to critically taste, it’s one of the things that makes this job so exciting.

Strawberries and cream, are you kidding me?! We’re over the moon about the Colombia Gerson Mora on espresso. It is living up to the hype. This coffee from the Huila region is carefully tended to by the Ortega family from Villa Pastora. The labor and dedication is tasted in your cup - we are so lucky.

It’s here to stay (at least in Reels). But if you visit the shops, you’ll find that I’m super warm in-person, and honestly, that’s the only thing that matters. Instagram isn’t hospitality.

Our tasting today: We are drinking espresso again because there’s a banger on second hopper this week and our default is also so solid, I cannot wait to share. Two Colombians, two completely different flavor profiles, both are perfect in their own right, and two sides to Julia to boot. What more can you ask for?

Monday can help whatever gloom the weekend might have brought you, high vibes and comfort is this little drink’s state of being. We’re using a strawberry syrup from , and it lends a juicy element to our floral green tea. Top it with a dairy foam of your choice, I like oat myself.

Valentine’s Day requires something with a little more intensity. Our tasting today will feature a couple different shot profiles - we have an intriguing blend as well as a bright and sweet single origin Colombia. Maybe we will try decaf as well. See you at the bar!

Since the snow postponed our coffee tasting this weekend, we’re bringing the tasting to you! Come tell us what you think of the Colombia Oscar Hernandez when the ice thaws and join us for public tastings at our OneCity location every Saturday at 1pm.
