I love doing buttercream transfers for character cakes, this one was for my Mario loving nephew! I prefer to do buttercream transfers over using edible images because who really wants to eat the “edible” image? Also doing the buttercream transfer allows me to use more artistry in my cakes make each one unique.

I love croissants and enjoy the attention to detail they require. I’ve been using Claire Saffitz recipe and have watched her YouTube video more times than I can count 😂 but here is a quick overview of the steps of making croissants pt.1.
Ingredients:
605g bread flour
66 g sugar
12 g salt
7 g active dry yeast
1 cup water
1/2 c whole milk
57 g butter
Butter block 340 g high fat butter (I used Truley)

I made these with my kids just to see what the hype was all about. They had a blast and I think it’s a fun little treat for them.
I thought I was going to love these honestly, the dot sprinkles are my favorite on donuts but it was just way too much. Obviously not so bad that I didn’t eat it all though.
P.S. Someone got into the last one before I could try it 😂

I love a croissant because they’re so versatile; ham and cheese, pain au chocolat, or just a classic all butter croissant.
I’ve loved the recipe I’ve been using I just have to perfect the technique. I’m so close to having the technique down and then I’ll be able to share with all of you!
