Share with the city your favorite food or coffee truck in Nampa.
Share how do the new rules effect you and your ability to go to your favorite food truck?
Times of day, the ability to sit in the shade at a table, see signage for a food truck, the ability for the food truck to be properly plugged into electricity, rather than running a generator, location of food trucks or the ability to shop multiple foods trucks on lunch.

I would have shared earlier, but I have just learned this was a thing... again!

Fight for our small business food trucks and their ability to reasonably and fairly operate in Nampa!

🚨 NAMPA — HERE’S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW.

There are proposed changes to Nampa’s Mobile Food Vendor code scheduled to go before City Council on October 19.

We know this information hasn’t necessarily been easy to find, so we wanted to help get it out there.

The graphic above highlights three of the proposed changes that raise some pretty big questions for mobile vendors:

☕ Operating hours would be limited to 9 AM–11 PM
🚚 Overnight parking would be prohibited unless operating from an approved Food Truck Court
⚡ Sewer, water and permanent electrical hookups would be prohibited

These are proposed changes — they have not been adopted yet.

If you’re a mobile vendor, employee, customer, property owner, or Nampa resident and have questions or concerns about how these changes could affect you, you can share your own comments directly with the City Clerk, City Council representatives and Mayor.

We’ve included the contact information in the graphic to make it easier to know who to reach.

To everyone who ever stepped up to the window, shared a laugh, tried something new, or simply waved as you passed by—thank you. BoxCar Bistro has always been more than a food truck. It’s been a little pocket of creativity, community, and connection, and you helped build that with every visit, every conversation, and every moment of kindness.

After a lot of reflection, I’ve made the difficult decision to close BoxCar Bistro indefinitely. This isn’t goodbye forever—just a long pause while I regroup, breathe, and figure out what the next chapter looks like.

I’m deeply grateful for your support, your patience, and your willingness to embrace the weird, the whimsical, and the heartfelt right alongside me. You made this journey unforgettable.

Until we meet again—stay curious, stay kind, and keep cheering on the small, scrappy dreamers in our community. They need you more than you know.
