I don’t really know how to wrap up a summer that changed so much for me. 🥹🤎
When I brought Bean to the Outer Banks, I truly had no idea what was going to happen. I hoped people would come. I hoped they’d like the coffee. I hoped this little idea of mine might actually work.
I don’t think I ever could have imagined this.
People planned part of their vacations around coming to see me. You came from different states, waited in line before I was even open, brought your kids and your dogs, came back multiple times in the same week, took bottled lattes home with you, wore Paperback Pours merch, brought me gifts, made me bracelets, bedazzled buckets, handed me little ducks, shared your pictures and videos, and somehow made this tiny coffee trailer feel like so much more than a coffee trailer.
And it definitely wasn’t perfect. There were a LOT of spills. A lot of running out of things. A lot of mistakes. Things broke. The heat had its own plans. There were insanely long lines, 3 a.m. alarms, very little sleep, and plenty of mornings where I was quite literally figuring it out as I went.
But more than any of that, I will remember how incredibly kind people were.
You were patient when the line was long. You laughed with me when cold foam splattered all over me. You told me not to worry when I made a mistake. You encouraged me when I needed it. And on the days when the negative felt a little louder than usual, there were always so many more of you reminding me why I was doing this in the first place.
I don’t think you’ll ever know how much that kindness meant to me.
Somewhere between the chaos, the coffee, the gifts, the conversations through Bean’s window, and all of the people I got to meet along the way, this became one of the coolest summers of my life.
To every single person who showed up for this little coffee trailer in any way, thank you. You made a little dream I had feel very, very real. 🥹🤎
I came here with a tiny pink coffee trailer and absolutely no idea what to expect.
I’m leaving with a whole lot more than I ever could have imagined.
That’s a wrap on our first chapter. 🤎☕️📖
See you next summer, OBX… or sooner. 🤭
