✨ Meet Madi ✨

If you’ve spent time at Taquerio over the past few years, there’s a good chance you’ve been greeted by Madi’s friendly smile. She’s been part of the team for 3 years now and is heading into her fourth summer, making her a familiar and welcoming face to both regulars and first-time guests alike.

What keeps her coming back every shift? The people. Madi loves seeing her regulars and meeting new guests from all over, but she’ll tell you her coworkers are just as special—always bringing the kind of energy that makes every shift more fun.

Her favorite part of the job is simple: connecting with guests. Whether she’s helping you customize your order or just chatting for a few minutes, she thrives in the fast-paced environment and the teamwork that keeps everything running smoothly.

When it comes to menu favorites, Madi swears by the rice & bean bowl with barbacoa—flavorful, filling, and perfectly customizable. Pair it with her go-to drink recommendation, the Pretty Pantalones, and you’re set.

One thing she always loves to share with guests? Taquerio is gluten and allergy friendly. As someone with her own food allergies, Madi knows how important it is to feel safe dining out, and she’s always happy to help guide guests through options that fit their needs.

Some of her favorite moments happen behind the scenes, too—especially chatting with the kitchen staff, who always know how to make her laugh and keep the positive vibes going.

Her coworkers would describe her as helpful, friendly, and reliable—and she brings that same energy to every table she serves.

Outside of Taquerio, Madi is working toward her degree in Physiology and Neurobiology at UConn as part of the Honors Program, with her sights set on becoming a physician. Balancing school and serving has helped her build strong time management and communication skills—something she’s incredibly proud of.

When she’s not working or studying, you can find her listening to country music, going for long walks, shopping, or bedazzling ✨
