Ward’s Soft Serve is proudly woman-owned. While my husband may be the voice you often hear, I’m the one driving the vision. I bring the ideas, the direction, and the heart — and he supports them with the steady hands that help make them real. This is a partnership, but make no mistake: this is a woman-led business. We’re also proud to employ several young ladies, giving them a place to learn, grow, and be part of something special right here in our community.
What you see is an outspoken little ice cream shop rooted in community, serving something delicious and a little different closer to home.
What you don’t see is the full story — the long days and late nights, the constant balancing act of being a mom to seven kids while building something that lasts. The dreaming, the cleaning, the problem-solving, the quiet planning for a future that never quite sits still.
Some of my sweetest childhood memories were grabbing a soft-serve cone at a little local spot in upstate New York. That’s the feeling we try to pass on. We hope when your family comes here, we’re helping create the same kind of simple, lasting memories — the ones that stick with kids long after the sprinkles are gone.
We’ve watched customers go from pregnant to pushing strollers to hearing their toddlers proudly order for themselves (and we love when they do). We celebrate your wins right alongside you, even the quiet ones.
Being a woman-owned business means more than a label to us. It means showing up for families, supporting other women (including the young ones working alongside us), and building something that feels like home.
