It seems to be a general consensus among most that summer 🌞 is the favorite season around western PA. For good reason too. Fall, winter, and early spring can bring chilly, wet, and unpredictable weather.

We’ve been sharing some of the best meal recommendations (in our opinion) for outside dining here at Osteria Pasqualino. We have a beautiful patio where you can dine, relax, and enjoy a great meal and summer drink.

Time to take advantage of dining outside as, sadly, summer is fading away quicker than we want. 😒

When you dine at Osteria Pasqualino, our goal is for you to taste more than just the flavors of our foods. 😋 We want you to taste our Italian heritage in every bite also. ☺️

The recipes we offer are old world Italian (as authentic as possible) items that have been in our family for generations. We utilize the same techniques & ingredients taught to us decades ago. Many of these are evident in our pasta 🍝 dishes.

*Fettuccine Alla Bolognese
*Pasta Siderno
*Pasta Mama Mia
*Spaghetti Alla Carbonara, and many, many more are all delicious & always available here.

It is very difficult not to choose pizza every visit to a Pasqualino’s restaurant. There are so many great menu items to choose from. The one staple item that's hard to pass up is our pizzas. 🍕

It doesn’t really matter which you choose, you’ll always be getting a first-rate Italian pizza of excellence. From the ingredients we use, to the preparation of our doughs, along with the precise baking times & temps for our pizzas, you can expect a mouth watering experience every time! 😋

Pizza is how we got started and it’s a true staple of the Italian cooking here. You can choose a Pizze Napoletane, Stromboli, Calzone, Hand-Tossed, Sicilian, or the ever delicious Pizza in Pala. There is no wrong pizza here at Osteria Pasqualino.

During happy hour you’ll find special prices on beers, house wines, appetizers (antipasti) and of course the NEW 25% OFF Pizze Napoletane discount.

You can get ANY Pizze Napoletane you like during happy hour at 25% OFF! We feel that that’s an incredible addition to the specials list. The Pizze Napoletane is one of the highest quality pizzas you’ll find anywhere around. 🍕

Happy hour at the bar area runs M-F from 4:00-7:00, and then on Sunday from 12:00-4:00.

Since our last post was all about tomatoes 🍅 and very well received, we'll follow up with something tomato fans will love today!

Bruschetta con Burrata 

Toasted ciabatta topped with creamy burrata, fresh Roma tomatoes, and finished with extra virgin olive oil.

As we mentioned in the last post, tomatoes are a HUGE part of Italian cuisine.

If not they’ll be probably ripening soon. The tomato can be a particularly finicky plant to grow and get a bountiful harvest from. Tomatoes are a HUGE part of Osteria Pasqualino & Italian cuisine.

Let’s chat about our tomato sauce today. 🫙🍝 We are proud and honored to have been given the recipe for our sauce. These sauces are part of our Italian family heritage. The recipes came from our wonderful Zia (Aunt) Maria and have been passed down to us. Of course, we use only the finest of tomatoes available for these sauces. 👍

Our sauces are always available for you to pick up at Osteria Pasqualino. You can grab a jar to go. This will take your dinner at home to a whole new level!

They are an excellent addition for meals such as:
*pasta dishes
*chicken parmesan recipes
*homemade pizzas
*chili
*stuffed cabbage or peppers
*meatballs, and the list goes on!

We make 60 gallons of this homemade sauce each and every day! Just ask your server for a jar to take home.

As we’ve mentioned recently, there’s 2 SUPERB NEW PIZZAS 🍕 here at Osteria Pasqualino! You can order them as Pizza in Pala or Pizze Napoletane. Both have been getting some pretty high remarks lately, so give ‘em a try! 😊

First, the Mortadella stracciatella e pistacchio! 😋

It all starts with melted provolone on a light, airy crust, creating that rich, savory foundation. It’s layered with delicate mortadella and cool, creamy stracciatella, then finished with pistachio cream, crushed pistachios, and a drizzle of olive oil for the perfect sweet-and-salty balance.

Next is the Classic Diavola! 🤯

This is Simple. Authentic. Unforgettable.

As we’ve been doing all spring & summer, we’ll share today another of the GREAT Italian dishes you can get here that go well with outdoor dining. 🍽️

Seafood 🦑🐟🦐🦞 is a staple of Italian cuisine. It’s not always just pastas and pizzas.

The nearby Mediterranean & Adriatic Seas provided everything ancient Romans (and even prior to Ancient Rome) needed for millennia. The history of seafood and Italy goes back to even before written records were kept.

Let’s introduce one of our fantastic lighter seafood options for dining outside…Mussels, or Cozze.

This is an appetizer of our steamed mussels in a delicious white wine & garlic sauce. They are served with our homemade toasted focaccia bread. You can also get mussels within our tasty seafood pasta, Linguine ai Frutti di Mare. Both options are great choices for the summer. ☀️
