A Message from the Baryo Family ❤️
Baryo has always been a family business, but over the years, you — our customers and our community — have become family to us too. Because of that, we feel that you deserve to know about the woman behind so much of what makes Baryo special, and how proud we are of our Lumpia Queen — my mom. 👑❤️
With heavy hearts, we want to share that our family has lost someone very special.
The lumpia many of you have come to know and love at Baryo is made from her original recipe — a recipe that came from her heart and one that we are incredibly proud to carry on. She was, and will always be, our original Queen of Lumpia.
The past few days have been incredibly difficult for our family, and my husband and I are still trying to find our footing and navigate everything that comes with losing someone we love. At the same time, we have been doing our best to keep Baryo going.
We sincerely apologize for the delays, longer wait times, and any frustrations you may have experienced. We know your time is valuable, and we are truly sorry to those who waited longer than expected or left disappointed. To those who were upset with us, we understand your frustration, and we sincerely ask for a little grace and understanding as we work through this difficult time.
We also want to apologize for being unable to participate in this year’s **Muncie Soup Crawl**. We were looking forward to being part of it, but unfortunately, we need this time to be with our family and lay my mom to rest.
To our entire Baryo team, thank you. ❤️ Thank you for continuing to show up, helping wherever needed, and supporting us through these difficult days. A special thank you to the two who stayed behind in the kitchen and helped keep things moving while my husband and I have been trying to find our footing. We are incredibly grateful for every one of you.
**Baryo will be closed tomorrow, Friday, October 2, for my mom’s service.**
We will reopen for **Saturday dinner service**, and we will do our best to have her famous lumpia available. We cannot promise it will be ready, but we will try. As we learn to carry on her recipe without her here with us, we hope you’ll understand that it may take some time.
To everyone who has shown us patience, kindness, understanding, and love — thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your support means more to our family than you know.
And to our Lumpia Queen, Ma — we are so proud of you. We are so proud of the life you lived, the love you gave, and the legacy you left behind.
We promise to keep your recipe alive and to keep serving your lumpia with the same love you put into every batch. As long as Baryo is here, your lumpia will always have a place at our table. ❤️
