This Thursday, our artist of the month, Laurie Lunsford, will have an artist talk at 5:30 to share her story of writing and illustrating children's books. You can also enjoy and purchase her original paintings on the spot if you would like.

𝘼𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙞𝙨𝙩:
Laurie Lunsford, displays 15 paintings, many of which are originals used in her most recent children's books. Paintings of children in nature will also be featured. Five of the paintings are of Dutro-Ernst Woods, a favorite place to spend time with children. Plein Air paintings of parks in Muncie will also be on display.
Laurie Lunsford is an interactive artist for all ages. Her love is children. She paints children having fun in nature and she enjoys painting outdoors to capture the essence of our local parks and forest preserves. She wrote a tale about a Red Tail Hawk which was illustrated by local artists and included most of the Redtail Land Conservancy properties. She has written and illustrated16 children's picture books. They are about curiosity and nature. They can be ordered on Amazon or picked up directly from "Laurie's Trunk".
Laurie is presently volunteering at Southview school as a Resident Artist, where she works one-on-one interactively in art, music, and poetry. She has worked in care centers with Alzheimer's patients, using art to stir happiness. When it's not snowing she enjoys plein air painting in local parks. Her paintings portray Dutro Ernst, Westside Park, Minnetrista, Mounds, Redtail at the Reservoir, and Heekin Park.
